I am from the state of Ohio. For as long as I can remember, sports have been a very important part of my life. The relationships that I have built over the years have left an impact on my life. While being a student-athlete in high school, I was a three sports athlete. I knew as a sophomore in high school that I wanted to work with student-athletes to help them reach their goals.
After high school, I went on to play football as a quarterback at Bluffton University. While there, I was able to start my coaching career. I coached quarterbacks and this opportunity and the relationships I developed helped to open doors to further my coaching at the high school level. At Bluffton, I met my wife, Lori, of 32 years and today we have four grown children and two grandchildren. All of our children participated in high school athletics and three continued playing at the college level.
After college, I spent the next thirty-four years coaching and teaching student-athletes. I truly believe this is a calling. I have great passion to help guide athletes to reach their goals in life. As a head football coach, along with my staff, we were able to turn around three struggling programs in which all were state ranked by our third year. I attribute the success to hard work and people in my life who guided and mentored me to help reach my goals. Now I am proud and honored to be part of a great organization that is committed to creating opportunities for student-athletes to further their education and playing careers.
