Sloan Johnson, Mental Performance Coach

Sloan is an experienced mental performance coach who has supported a wide range of athlete populations, including youth, high school, and collegiate student-athletes. She has experience leveraging technology for group facilitation, notably providing “Mindful Moments” and “Mental Reps” via Instagram Live and Zoom to the entire student-athlete population at the University of North Carolina Greensboro. Sloan has developed tailored mindset curriculums for teams, coaches, parents, and entire youth sport organizations. Additionally, she coaches individuals through their own tailored weekly mental performance sessions based on their specific needs. Most recently she has added work with high performing business professionals to her repertoire. Leading live group workshops, individual coaching sessions, and disseminating knowledge via an app-based program on increasing motivation, building confidence, and remaining resilient throughout one’s career. As a firm believer in the power of education she also enjoys serving as a keynote speaker and mentor.

Sloan is passionate about using psychology and experiential learning to develop mental strength and resiliency not only in athletic performance but also within life. She is eager to build relationships that empower others towards achieving their goals, strengthening their growth mindset, and having fun within sport. When she is not coaching, Sloan enjoys traveling, exploring new food and coffee venues, hiking, playing pickleball and tennis, over watering her plants, and spending time with her friends and family.

Sloan holds a master’s degree in applied sport and exercise psychology from the University of North Carolina Greensboro and a bachelor’s degree in exercise and sport science from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Additionally, she holds a UNC Business Essentials Certificate through UNC Kenan-Flagler Business School and is a Certified Mental Performance Consultant through the Association for Applied Sport Psychology.
